Hi! My name is Billy..long time thinker..first time blogger

Hello and welcome to my blog (such as it is thus far).  Those of you who know me will probably have a good idea of what to expect.  Those of you who don't know me will probably be as surprised as I am with what goes on.  lol

I am not very good at planning out what will catch my attention so I can't tell you specifically what will be touched on.  I write about stuff that interests me; that appalls me; that I love; that I hate; or that I wonder about.  There is a good chance I will test out jokes or bits of material and ask for feedback or help.  I will sometimes just pose a question or scenario and see where it goes.  At times, I will even be open to suggestions for topics or fielding questions.

I enjoy opposing viewpoints.  I love to get a chance to see things from a different perspective.  I love to learn and I hope to do a lot of that through this blog. 

Having said that, I do have expectations for those who visit here:
    - Be respectful to me and especially to other visitors to the blog.
    - If the vast majority of what you voice consists of unnecessary profanity, name calling, excessive use of all caps, or other such examples of asshattery, go ahead and pass on to another blog.  I won't hesitate to block you. (Occasional profanity is expected, just don't let it be the focus of your comments and definitely do not direct it maliciously towards others).
    - I will give you the respect you earn in here.  If you act like an asshat or jerk, or are exhibiting willful ignorance, I will call you on it.  If that might offend you, oh well.  
    - If you have something to express, please back it up with something; even if it is just your own take on it.  I can read news feeds myself, i don't need it parroted.  
    - Please feel free to give me feedback (particularly if I ask for it)...lol
    - Have fun and (hopefully) enjoy!!!

Oh..and my writing style varies. Sometimes it will be pretty standard and sometimes it...isn't.. please try to bear with me on that!


Finally, a bit of biographical info to kind of give you an idea of where I come from:  I am the youngest 8 (well, technically 7 1/2, as I had a half brother from my father's first marriage); I have 5 older sisters; I grew up on a farm; my mom was very literate and put a premium on education (my dad, not so much);  I was the first one in my family to graduate with a 4 year degree and am the only one to earn a Master's Degree; I am a voracious reader; I have eclectic tastes in pretty much everything; I tend to the liberal side of the political/social spectrum (but how much really depends on who you compare me to); I sporadically perform stand up comedy; I am a self-professed nerd (of several varieties).....

So, enough of that..  Let's move forward and experience the madness to my methods!   Enjoy...
